A brief report on the Faculty Development Seminar
– Bhubaneswar
The Faculty Development Seminar (FDS) held in Bhubaneswar
from 7th to 11th April, 2006 provided an excellent learning
opportunity for the H.I. Faculty and helped them in bringing
the desired improvements in certain specific areas. Ten H.I.
Faculty from all over the country participated in this FDS.

HIS GREAT EXPECTATIONS
The five-day Seminar was capsuled into five strategic sections
dealing with specific need areas. The day started with deep
reflections on life and ministry. It motivated the participants
to look unto God for understanding His great expectations.
In this section, the following issues were followed:
- We don’t deserve to have expectations from God
- It is important that we trust God and His plans
- What about God? What He expects of us?
- Being fulfilled in Christ is the key to having minimum
expectations.
Through the exercise on stakeholder’s expectations,
the participants were able to identify nine important stakeholders
in their lives and established their expectations of them.
They were greatly challenged as they were able to see the
level of expectations of their different stakeholders, which
was an unique experience for most of them.
Binoy Muduli, RD-East, presented the H.I. Vision and Ethos
and motivated the participants of the call of moving from
effectiveness to greatness.
BLOSSOM WITH THE GIFTS OF GOD
Day-2 was devoted to helping the participants to Blossom with
the Gifts of God and become creative. The focus was on-
- Teacher Oriented vs. Learner Oriented learning. (If there
no learning; there is no teaching- Principles of Adult Learning)
- Transformational learning process
- Laws of application (Resources -> Methods -> Results)
The rest of the day was devoted to Micro-lab presentations
in phase-I inviting five of the participants for analysis
and critiquing.
FIRE IN MIND
Day-3 started with the Fire in Mind guiding the participants
in mastering contents and strategizing their lesson plans
through the Laws of the irreducible minimum. The rest of the
day was again devoted to Micro lab with other five participants
explaining on the group dynamics and presentation skills.
MASTER’S TOUCH
Day-4 took the participants close to the Master’s
Touch and oriented them on the Master’s
Method of teaching for life change. The participants were
moved from being merely teaching to:
- Equipping in person’s life
- Edifying the Body of Christ
- Causing growth in the Work of the Ministry
This was followed by the session on Laws of Equipping covering
various aspects of the equipping model. The rest of the day
was devoted to Micro lab Phase-II for presentations.
RENEWED AND REVIVED!!
Day-5 gave the final challenge to the participants to be launched
out into Missions being Renewed and Revived!!
The second group of five gave their Microlab Phase-II presentations
for analysis and critiquing. After this, there was the session
on strategic initiative on personal planning.
