A BRIEF REPORT ON THE H.I.ALUMNI ASSOCIATIONS OFFICE
BEARERS’ MEET, EASTERN REGION, BHUBANESWAR
The East India Strategic Meet was held on 11th and 12th
March’06 at Bhubaneswar was s hosted by the HIAA, Bhubaneswar.
Twenty Executive Committee members from 7 Haggai Institute
Alumni Associations (HIAA) out of 9 represented in the Meet.
The response from the EC members was very encouraging in this
first ever-arranged Strategic Meet. Two Society Members of
H.I. India were also present in the Meet.
THE STRATEGY
At the outset, Mr. Paul Balasundaram, the Executive Director,
H.I. India helped the Alumni to re-visit the H.I. Vision and
gave an overview of the National Perspective of the H.I. Ministry.
He also briefed on the draft resolution of the Shillong Summit
and informed about the future direction of HI ministry in
the emerging situation. The session was very helpful to the
participants in terms of re-enforcing their understanding
of H.I. ministry. Mr. Binoy Kr. Muduli, Regional Director
– East took sessions on the Functions of an Effective
HIAA and challenged the participants to move from passive
structure to an active, purpose-driven “powerhouse”
for the ministry. A brainstorming session on being purpose-driven
was held based on the following questions-
- What is our purpose?
- What are the obstacles to the success of H.I. ministry?
- What are the key success factors to H.I. ministry?
- What is my personal role?
THE GOALS
At the end of the meet, the HIAAs came out with the following
ministry and financial goals-
- Goals to organize 21 seminars in the Eastern Region (
1 NS, 3 SS, 18 AS) during the year 2006-07
- Goals to raise financial support to H.I. Ministry to
the tune of Rs. 51,000/-, Rs. 78,000/- and Rs. 1,30,000/-
respectively in 2006, 2007 and 2008 by the HIAAs
THE FEEDBACK
One of the participants and H.I. Society Member Mr. Rabindranath
Dey said, “ It was a very wonderful time in the first
Eastern Strategic Meet at Bhubaneswar and I was so privileged
to be there. I was amazed to see the growth of H.I. ministry
in the EAST and praise God and of course, Binoy Bhai for his
initiatives. The exponential rise of financial contributions
opened the eyes of many of my friends present there. I praise
God for that. The facts about an effective HIAA and the need
to revisit the vision were very timely and were very essential
for many of my new friends now in the executive positions
of different HIAAs. The Meet has given me a burden to fulfill
the task with His grace.”
