A Report on the South India HI Alumni Association Office Bearers’ Meet at Kodaikanal.

The 4th South India H.I. Strategic Meet was held in Kodaikanal on the 11th and 12th of February ’06 was hosted by the HIAA Madurai. The meeting was attended by 31 HI Alumni Association Office Bearers representing 10 of the 25 Alumni Associations in the Southern Region. One HI National Society member, 3 Regional Council members and 3 HI Coordinators also attended the Meet. The Regional Director, Mr. Thomas Abraham and Area Manager, Mr J.S. Anbu anchored the meeting.

The theme of the meeting was “Exceeding the expectations” taken from Ephesians 3:25. In his opening address, Paul Balasundarm, Executive Director, HI India reminded those gathered about the “call” of the Christian Leader to take the Gospel to this great Nation. He also briefed the participants about the “Shillong Declaration” and the broad direction of the ministry for our Nation. During the course of various group deliberations, discussions and an open forum, the broad goals for 2006-07 for the Southern Region emerged:

Seminar Goals: 47 seminars ( 2 NS, 2 SLS, 3 SLS-Ds, 8 SS and 32 Local Seminars )

Financial Goals: Pledges worth Rs 1.83 lakhs ( AAs: Rs 1.40 lakhs, Personal pledges: Rs 0.43 lakhs )

The strategic meeting concluded with the conviction that God had indeed fulfilled His promise to “exceed our expectations”. The attending EC members returned to their respective AAs firmly convinced about God’s work in and through the H.I. ministry.
