An update of the Major Events of the first two months of the year 2006:

AGM of the H.I. NE India Regional Council
Imphal: The 2nd AGM of the H.I. NE India Regional Council (HINERC) was held on 13th January 2006 at Imphal, Manipur. The high light of the AGM are-
  • Ministry Goals for 2005-06 reviewed and goals for 2006-07 finalized.
  • Budget for the 2006-07 discussed and approved.
  • H.I. Alumni from the region to be mobilized for greater participation
  • To make all out efforts to raise the quality of the seminars and focus on urban centers.
  • Explore possibilities of taking the training to the un-reached parts of NE India
Dr. Bamin Tada, the President of the HINERC in his opening speech challenged the Alumni to rise up to the occasion and make a difference through the Gospel. The President of HI India Mr. Peter James Bazeley & the Executive Director Paul Balasundaram were present in the AGM as observers. Praise God for the successes in motivating and mobilizing the Alumni through the HINERC.

Blessing India !

Participants of Subject Consultation, New Delhi
New Delhi: A faculty Development program called Subject Consultation on “Blessing Hindus” held at Delhi on 14-15 January was attended by thirty-eight esteemed faculty of H.I. India. Mr. R. Rajkumar facilitated and moderated the Consultation. Various aspects of Hinduism including Philosophical Hinduism and as how of Apologetics were deliberated at length. The vital touchstones of the topic were discussed and the participants had the Consultation with a deadline to workout their materials for future presentations.

5th NE India Alumni Get-Together, 2006

Imphal: The theme of the 5th NE India Alumni Get-Together held in Imphal was,” Exponential Leadership: the Cutting Edge of Transformation”. More than fifty alumni from all over NE India gathered in Imphal on 12-14 Jan 2006 to have a time of fellowship, prayer and envisioning. Daniel Foo from Singapore, Peter James Bazeley, Paul Balasundaram, Pochister Kharkongor,Dr. Bamin Tada, Tony Marak, Timothy Phaomei and Sundar Singh Sangma were main resource persons in the Get –together.

The highlights of the Get–together:

  • Prayer walk by the Alumni in the plain belt of Manipur for Peace & Transformation
  • Panel Discussion, Spiritual Awakening, Prayer Time, Ministry Envisioning & Cultural Evening.
  • Catching greater perspective of the ministry

Kudos to HIAA, Manipur for ably hosting the Get-Together. All the Participants had left with a renewed spiritual strength and enlarged vision.


5th NE India Alumni Meet

H.I. Faculty Retreat 2006, Hyderabad

H.I. Faculty Retreat 2006, Hyderabad

Hyderabad: The first ever Faculty Retreat held in Hyderabad from 26-28 January 2006. Thirty eight faculty form all over the country attended the Retreat. Logos Ministry sponsored the event. Mr. R. Raj Kumar, Mr. PKD Lee, & Prof. Jeyakar Chellaraj were the key resource persons in the retreat.

It was a wonderful time of fellowship and enrichment at the feet of the Master. All glory to Him! The resolutions taken by the participants can be summed up in the following points-

  1. To depend solely on the power of the Holy Spirit while ministering in the seminars.
  2. To intensify evangelism in the workplace.
  3. To study the Word of God more systematically and intently.
  4. To spend more intimate time with the Lord.
  5. To witness with boldness in the workplace
  6. To upgrade teaching materials and techniques.
  7. To shun unbiblical anecdotes and tools in teaching.

SLS Kolkata
Kolkata: The Special Leadership Seminar held in Kolkata from 7-11 January 2006 was a high-end seminar organized by the HIAA, Kolkata which was attended by 23 participants. The Seminar was a breakthrough. It has challenged the participants to be effective witness in the Workplace and refreshed the Alumni of the City of Joy to mobilize the alumni through the seminar. One of the participants commented that the seminar has opened her eyes in several areas of Leadership and Evangelism to be an effective Leader and Witness. for Christ . Rev. Susanta Patra,Valentine Davidar, MT Meshram,Sam Rufus, Sundar Singh Sangma, Mary Yagnik and Binoy Kumar Muduli facilitated in the Seminar. The seminar has ignited a new spirit among the leaders and helped them to catch a new vision for evangelism.

SLS Kolkata 2006

Formation of H.I.South India Regional Council

H.I.S.I.R.C Metting, Chennai
Chennai: The H.I. South India Regional Council was formed on the 4th of February at a meeting that was moderated by our President, Mr. Peter James Bazeley.There are a total of thirteen Members in the Council. The following Members had been elected to constitute Executive Committee(EC) -

Dr. Rebecca Vedamanikam ( Trichy ) – President
Mr. E. M. Mathai ( Chennai ) – Vice President
Mr. Anthony George ( Bangalore ) – Treasurer
Dr. George Kovoor ( Trisoor ) – Member
Mr. Sam Chander ( Chennai ) – Member
Mr. Thomas “Aby” Abraham – ex Officio Secretary

Mr. Sukumer Jeysingh, Dr. Sunil Jeyaharan and Mr. Raju Khosy will be ex-Officio Members of the Council representing on behalf of the Society of H.I. India. The primary function of the Council will be to motivate and mobilize the H.I. Alumni of South for the furtherance of the Ministry and formulate strategic approach.
