| A brief Report on the South India
HI Alumni Get-Together 2005, Bangalore
The theme of the South India HI Alumni Get-Together held
at Bangalore from 12-13 November 2005 was - “Transformation
through Transformed People” based on the text
Ezekiel 22:30. Sixty-five HI alumni from three states of South
India participated in the meet. The Get-Together was a breakthrough
on the following counts-
- It could bring the HI alumni together from all over South
to a common platform and helped to grasp a bigger picture!
- It had reinforced the Vision and increased the passion
of the alumni to remain focused.
- It was an eye opener for many and several doubts &
issues were clarified.

Peter James Bazeley, Paul Balasundaram, Valentine Davidar,
Sundar Singh Sangma, Anthony George, JS Anbu, George Mathew,
Thomas Abraham and several other alumni ministered in the
Get-Together. The logistics support given by the HIAA, Bangalore
was incredible. The synergy created by the serenity of the
venue and warm hospitality extended made the event a memorable
one.
10 key factors that can be instrumental in bringing transformation
in our country emerged beautifully in various sessions facilitated
by the resource persons of the Get-Together-
- HI India should focus on training the marketplace
leaders to be greater witness
in their respective workplace.
- Evangelism should be HI’s all
consuming priority
- Every HI alumna/alumnus must be a transformed
leader himself/herself to transform others
- Personal holiness will be a crucial
factor in being Role Models in the market
place.
- We are God’s gold fish in the bowl. We cannot afford
to gather moss. We have to be shining for the Lord.
- HI Alumni’s greater involvement
through their undying zeal, compelling vision, consistent
prayer, long-term plans & perspectives and monitoring
of progress can only accelerate the process of transformation.
- Catch the Vision, Keep the Vision
and Obey the Vision. There is no short
cut to transformation.
- Build relationships and encourage others
for training leaders for evangelism.
- Generosity has nothing to do with the
money we have. Generosity has everything to do with God’s
grace upon us, our willingness to give, and the extent to
which we are willing to give. Give sacrificially
for the Kingdom purpose.
- Look up to the Master for ultimate result.
Do not be discouraged or weary. Remember we are created
with a purpose and in fulfilling the purpose there
will be pain, but we need to understand the purpose and
endure hardship.
All the participants returned with a corporate vision of
the transformation of India with renewed vision and commitment.
Praise the Lord.
